Jane Bickford offers a friendly specialist speech pathology service based in the south-eastern Adelaide Hills.

Jane can assist people of all ages to gain optimal vocal health. This can be achieved by giving some advice or by a tailored therapy programme. The need for therapy is determined in the initial assessment.

Jane’s main area of interest is the speaking voice but she is happy to advise people on how they might get help for singing or theatre voice problems. She also has expertise in working with people with communication and or swallowing problems after head or neck surgery or radiotherapy.

Private consulting details
Jane Bickford consults at Blackwood Hospital on Saturday mornings and provides assessment and therapy consultations at competitive rates. The fee schedule will be sent to you prior to the first appointment. Please check with your health fund your eligibility for cover.

Who can refer
You can refer yourself or a GP, specialist consultant such as an ENT and another speech pathologist can refer you.

Future service plans
Jane plans to commence consulting in the Stirling area in the near future.

Jane Bickford is an Adelaide based speech pathologist with over 12 years experience.

She worked extensively in the fields of voice and head and neck care, in other states of Australia and the United Kingdom before returning to Adelaide in 2003. Since then she has worked jointly with the ENT Department at Flinders Medical Centre (FMC) to run a voice clinic and has supervised the student led voice therapy clinic in her role as senior speech pathologist at FMC.

Jane lectures at Flinders University for the South Australia (FUSA) Undergraduate Speech Pathology Programme.  In 2005 she gave guest lectures on voice disorders for the FUSA Graduate Entry Medical Programme.

Jane is a member of Speech Pathology Australia Association, Australian Voice Association and British Voice Association.

She has a BAppSc (Speech Pathology) from Flinders University of South Australia and a certificate of Counselling from Regent’s College, London, United Kingdom.
